- Entrance test
- The Selective Eligibility Test (SET), then a second-stage school test
- What's tested
- Stage 1 (SET): multiple-choice English and Maths papers. Stage 2: each school's own test.
- Usual timing
- Registration usually closes at the end of July of Year 5. The SET is in mid-September, with second-stage tests in late September and early October.
- How places are decided
- Each school sets its own SET pass mark, then combines it with its second-stage results.
- Year 7 intake
- Girls
- ⚠ Greenshaw High School fills a small share of its places through the SET (partially selective).
Checked November 2026. Exact dates and arrangements change each year: always confirm with the school or Sutton Grammar School: Selective Eligibility Test before registering.
